Old Words, Same Prayer
Sunday, October 26th, 2008These words were written about the brand new White House on November 2, 1800 by President John Adams, the first to ever inhabit the White House:
“Before I end my letter, I pray Heaven to bestow the best of Blessings on this House and all that shall hereafter inhabit it. May none but honest and wise Men ever rule under this roof.”
208 years later, I am praying the same thing.
What Happens In Vegas
Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008I wasn’t here this past Sunday to hear part two of the Illusions sermon series that Jeff Henderson is doing in our church, but I saw a great quote from it on someone’s Twitter. The quote has stuck in my head since I saw it and the more I think about it the more truth I see in it. He said:
What happens in Vegas stays in your heart.
Change of Plans
Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008No Thanksgiving Half Marathon for me.
I have been having some lower back trouble for a few months now, so I started increasing my stretching and figured it was just from all of the training. But then, a couple of weeks ago I started having some radiating pain in my knee and gradually my ankle, all on the same side that I was having the lower back pain. I have been running a lot to train for the Half, so that wasn’t helping the problem. I decided to go see a chiropractor and she confirmed my suspicions that all of the pain was coming from my back and that my back was in pretty bad shape. I have now gone three times and already I am feeling a big difference. I haven’t run in a week and a half to give my body a little recovery time. I was talking to my chiropractor about it this morning and telling her that tomorrow is going to be my first day back running. She said that I need to take it easy and that the Half isn’t a great idea right now. She said that I could do it, but that I would suffer the consequences of it for a long time to come.
So, I have decided to take her advice and drop out of the race. There is another one in March in Rome, GA that my cousins are running, so I am going to join them in that. I am still going to compete in the 10K on November 1.
Three Words
Tuesday, October 21st, 2008Carlos posted this on his blog today. I don’t normally think most YouTube videos are funny, but this one left me with tears streaming down my face! I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time.
Stick with it, don’t try and skip through. You will not regret it.
I have only three words for her: Bless her heart.
Feed Just One
Monday, October 13th, 2008I saw an add on Facebook that had this picture:
Until today I have NEVER clicked on an ad on Facebook. None of them are intriguing enough for me to click on. But this one caught my attention. I am going to this website to buy a shirt. Smart marketing. Good cause.

Timer Malfunction
Monday, October 13th, 2008I set up a timer for some posts to publish on their own so that they weren’t all clumped together. It didn’t work, so one of my posts from September just got published today. Woops!

Sunday, October 12th, 2008Fall Fun!
Saturday, October 11th, 2008Not much to say, but here are some pictures from today. I bought a new lens for my camera and I am still trying to figure out some of the settings to make it work the best. So, a lot of my pictures aren’t coming out great. Here are some that I like though (even if it’s just for the subject matter and not the picture quality!).
Ella is very focused at her crafts
Brown and white dalmation…I had never seen one in those colors before!
This one is kind of bright but she looks so cute talking to that sheep! She was asking him why his hair is sticking up on top!
This look worries me! He cracks me up!
He is working on his latest composition
This one seems to be giving him trouble. It makes him want to pull his hair out!
Aunt Kelly stop taking pictures while I am trying to work!
