Christmas Time!

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

I love Christmas time! I’m not going to lie though, I haven’t really been in the Christmas spirit this year. I don’t know if it was my finals, the 70 degree weather, or the fact that Christmas decorations have been up since October, but I’m just not feeling it this year. I’m hoping that these next few days will change that!

It’s been a relaxing week at work. Everyone is in and out of the office and I have gotten a lot of organizing and cleaning done. On Tuesday Chris, one of his friends, and two of our friends from REI came to offsite storage with me and helped me get that all cleaned out. We have 2 very full, large, storage units for conferences and they were a mess. We spent about 4.5 hours taking everything out and putting it back in. It was a lot of work but so much fun to spend time with those guys! I am going to miss working at REI for the friends there!

Speaking of REI, tomorrow is actually my last day there. It’s bitter sweet but I know that it is the best thing right now. I am going to have a lot more time to train for the triathlon, so that will be really good! I had to take a couple of months off to get through the semester, but I am back running again and loving it! I am getting pretty good on my bike as well. Chris put my clipless pedals on the other day, so I am going to start learning how to use those. I am excited about it!

I don’t really have much to say, but I thought I needed to put a little update up! I hope that everyone is having a great December and that you have a Merry Christmas! If you haven’t seen The Nativity Story yet, you should go!

Visit to the Cabbage Patch Hospital

Sunday, December 10th, 2006

My best friend Marissa was in town this week and we thought it would be fun to drive up to Cleveland, GA to the Cabbage Patch Hospital. That’s right, Cabbage Patch Kids. You get to see the nursery, the school room, the play areas, and even get to see a birth. It’s really disturbing….so we took Ella! She didn’t really like it that much until we bought her candy. Now she won’t stop talking about it!

They Will Tow Your Car

Tuesday, December 5th, 2006

In case any of you have ever asked yourself the question “If I run out of gas, have a friend pick me up, do what I was going to do and come back to my car later, will my car be there when I get back?” The answer is no. Moral of the story? Don’t run out of gas. If you do run out of gas, call someone that has the common sense to go pick up a container of gas and bring it to you instead of just coming to get you. And finally, if you run out of gas and leave your car, specifically in front of a police station, they will tow it. Even if you blink in disbelief, it will not reappear. Some lessons are just learned the hard way I guess. I love you Tiff!
